Memorial parade this morning

One minute of roaring engine noise will mark the start of a memorial lap for Dan Kneen this morning.

A convoy is due to set off around the TT course at 11am.

The Grandstand pit lane will be open, with hundreds of well-wishing bikers expected to give the late rider a fitting send off.

A bus carrying the Kneen family and close friends will lead the procession.

But unlike the annual Simon Andrews Lap, no police escorts or additional traffic controls will be in place.

A diversion at Sulby Bridge will also remain in place due to ongoing works on Lezayre Road.

Riders are being urged not to overtake the family bus, as special arrangements have been made for it to travel through the closed road, passing Churchtown where Kneen lost his life on 30 May.

All other participants must respect the diversion.

With congestion expected around the course, the public are asked to be patient and give way as the parade lap passes by.
