Peel primary pupils in fundraiser

The Isle of Man's response to the Haitian earthquakes keeps gathering momentum, as more people take up the challenge of raising funds.

Dozens of events will be taking place around the Island over the next few weeks, aimed at making money for the international relief effort.

Fundraising activities range from cake sales, dress-down days and sponsored runs and walks to a group which is being sponsored to kayak to the Sugarloaf sea stack near the Sound, and then climb to the top.

At Peel Clothworkers' School a number of pupils are taking a big step to bring in much needed money (play audio file):

If you want to help the girls reach their target they will be on the promenade at Peel from about 10.30am tomorrow (Sunday).

Members of the Manx Paddle Sports Canoe Club are sea kayaking from Port St Mary to the Sugarloaf sea stack today, with the time depending on the tide and the state of sea.
