Police working with licensees to prevent spiking

Follows reported rise in incidents in UK

People on the Isle of Man are being urged to be vigilant after a rise in the number of spiking incidents in the UK.

More than 40 university student groups in the UK boycotted nightclubs and bars last night because of it.

Manx police say they will take any offences of this nature seriously and are working with licensees to make sure this isn't a 'trend that takes hold' on the Island.

Drink spiking - where someone adds drugs or alcohol to another person's drink without them knowing - is illegal.
