Racing 'must be considered' in higher death toll on Manx roads

Director of Public Health says the impact of motorsport has to be considered

Motorsport could be responsible for giving the Isle of Man a higher rate of death or serious injury on the roads.

That's according to the director of public health, following the publication of data on health and wellbeing on the Island.

The figures show those involved in a crash here are twice as likely to be killed or badly hurt as those in England.

However, Dr Henrietta Ewart believes the impact of racing on Manx roads has to be taken into consideration:
