Regeneration cash expected soon

Eight million pounds earmarked by the government to regenerate towns and villages around the Island should start to filter through this autumn.

There was criticism earlier this week of the time taken for the cash to be allocated to projects.

Ramsey Commissioners voiced concerns delays were hampering the town's revival plans.

Ramsey MHK Anne Craine (pictured) says the mechanics of distributing such a large sum are complex, but she's confident most hurdles have been overcome.

She says the local authorities should start to see progress as early as next month:
