Prosecution alleges that 40-year-old left victim 'disfigured for life'
A Douglas resident has been remanded at the Isle of Man Prison after being accused of biting off a man’s ear.
Gavin William Patterson, of Taubman Terrace, appeared at Douglas Courthouse yesterday (9 July).
The 40-year-old has been charged with assault with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.
The court heard he allegedly got into a fight with the man in Glen Falcon Gardens on 8 June before leaving him ‘disfigured for life’.
Bail was refused and he’ll next appear in court on 6 August; committal proceedings, where the case is elevated to the Court of General Gaol Delivery, will take place on 27 August.
Update: At Douglas Courthouse on 27 August committal proceedings were completed.
