Legion hosts event at All Saints in Lonan Parish
A service of remembrance is being held this afternoon in an ancient church which has been closed for ordinary worship for some years.
The Legion is hosting the event at the All Saints' church in Lonan Parish, starting at 2pm.
It's the site of Archibald Knox war memorials commemorating the sacrifice and service of many family members from Lonan and Laxey.
The congregation will have the opportunity to pay their respects in what's described as a 'simple service', conducted by the Reverend John Guilford.
There'll be a wreath laying on behalf of the Legion and local community groups, and the children of Laxey School will make their special contribution in song and verse.
Organisers say it's a "rare opportunity for people to meet and view their church whose future remains in doubt."
