Returning clients seeking debt support not new ones says OFT

'Significant increase' in residents seeking advice again

The rising cost of living hasn't resulted in increased numbers seeking debt advice - but those who've previously needed help are returning.

That's from the Isle of Man Office of Fair Trading which provides a debt counselling service to Manx residents.

Rising energy costs, increasing inflation and the Covid situation have all have an economic impact on the Island.

Head of the OFT John Peet admits he thought more people would need support but a different trend has emerged:
