It cost him his marriage and his business, but a TT rider from Yorkshire is vowing to finish the lap that nearly killed him.
Robbie Silvester suffered multiple life-threatening injuries in a 140mph crash at Greeba Castle in 2006.
He has since undergone 25 operations after suffering a shattered pelvis, a damaged spine, a broken tibia and fibula and a punctured bowel and bladder.
Five years on, Robbie will be back at this year's TT, helping out, and is eventually aiming to get back on two wheels:
Boutique hotel planned for Peel
Former TT rider's family at risk of losing house after rejected insurance pay out
Dog wash machine planned for promenade
Businesses can bloom if people support local
