SAVE programme launched

Public invited to share cost-cutting thoughts

Government has launched a new programme looking for suggestions on saving money from members of the public.

The SAVE programme is being touted as an 'ideas hub' for financial efficiency, encouraging ordinary citizens to share their thoughts - no matter how radical - on how to cut cost.

Treasury says it could save £25 million per year before 2021.

Political member Bill Shimmins is heading up the team.

The initial period of consultation runs until 14 May.

You can submit and view ideas via a new online interactive portal, at gov.im/save.
