Search team Sergeant speaks at murder trial

The Police Sergeant who oversaw the search team at the scene of an alleged murder, spoke at Douglas Courthouse this morning.

Forty-six-year-old Ian Anderson denies murdering 60-year-old Neil Roberts.

Mr Roberts's body was found by police at Mr Anderson's home in Queen Street, Castletown, in late 2013.

Police Sergeant Barry Hand was called to the witness box by Linda Watts, prosecuting.

The jury watched a video filmed by Sergeant Hand of the Castletown home the day after the alleged murder.

The film showed the house before and after items had been seized by police as evidence.

Jurors also heard in written statements the results of blood tests from both Mr Anderson and Mr Roberts.

They revealed that Ian Anderson's alcohol levels were under the legal limit to drive.

Mr Roberts results showed he had consumed almost three times more than the limit to drive.
