The Isle of Man space sector is expecting a wave of interest from companies around the globe, after a Manx-based company launched one of the most pewerful satellites ever built.
The Viasat-1spacecraft was put into space from Kazakhstan early yesterday (Wednesday).
Behind the project is Viasat Isle of Man Ltd.
The company's role in the launch and the Island's burgeoning expertise in 'space business' is due to featureĀ on Channel Four news this evening.
Alex Downie MLC, who has responsibility for the space sector at the Department of Economic Development, says the film crew had a good look at the sector's success:
