Trees for Life plantings begin


Hundreds of Manx youngsters are doing their bit to help the local environment this week.

Pupils from twelve of the Island's primary schools are planting young trees at Conrhenny Plantation in Onchan.

The children have been nurturing oak, ash and silver birch saplings throughout the winter.

The Trees for Life scheme is led by the Department of Environment, Food and Agriculture.

Member Tim Crookall MHK says it boosts the number of native species in the Island and encourages young people to learn more about nature:
