Tynwald Day provides a chance for government to connect with the public in a way not always seen throughout the rest of the year.
That's according to Rushen MHK, Dr Michelle Haywood, who's described being part of today's ceremony as a 'humbling experience'.
When asked about important matters in her constituency, Dr Haywood says there are numerous areas of interest currently.
Among those are the development of the former Bay Queen Hotel site in Port St Mary and ongoing work at the marine biological site in Port Erin:
