Yellow weather warning issued with waves and gales expected

Met Office warns of coastal overtopping on Island's promenades

Ronaldsway Met Office is warning large waves and gales could bring debris onto coastal roads around high tide this afternoon and tomorrow morning.

Forecasters have issued a yellow weather warning for coastal overtopping which will remain in place until 4.30am (Wednesday).

A small amount of overtopping is expected around high tide just after 2.30pm this afternoon with more pronounced overtopping expected at the next high tide shortly before 3am.

Shore Road, Castletown Promenade, the north end of Douglas promenade, Fenella in Peel, Laxey and Ramsey are all likely to be affected.
