Island-born rider storms to success after strong series
Island-born motorcycle racer, Jamie Williams has been crowned Sportbike champion of the 2026 International Road Racing Championship (IRRC).
Originally from Douglas but based in the UK, the Manxman clinches the Sportbike title having amassed 215 points across ten races in this year's series.
He took first place in seven of those ten races along with two second-placed finishes and one DNF.
Taking second place in the 2026 Sportbike category was Dutchman, Wally Jacobs on 171 points ahead of Patrik Serbousek of Czechia in third on 144 points.
Following this latest success, on social media, Williams says it's been a year 'full of ups and downs but all in all, it’s been another unforgettable one in many respects.'
Separately, Williams also took part in the IRRC Supersport championship, finishing 12th overall on 44 points.
Twelve months ago, he won the European Super Twin - Road Race Challenge series and separately won both the Supersport and Junior races at the Manx Grand Prix in August 2025.
