Island businessman owned the club

Preston North End Football Club is cutting ticket prices for their match this weekend so people can pay their respects to Trevor Hemmings.

The billionaire businessman, who owned the club, lived on the Isle of Man.

He died on Monday night aged 86.

The Lancashire team will only charge home and away fans £5 when they take on Derby County at Preston's Deepdale stadium at 3pm today.

The proceeds will go to charities which Mr Hemmings supported.

Tributes on Manx shores have poured in throughout this week for three-time Grand National Winner who was a big supporter of local charities.

They included Hospice Isle of Man which said it was 'in awe' of his passion for helping others, whilst Live At Home added he would be 'sadly missed'.
