System will work in conjunction with traffic lights

New tram signals came to be in place on Douglas promenade from Wednesday 13 July.

The light railway tramway crossing at Castlemona Avenue was installed ahead of the return of the horse trams.

The MyProm website says the signals are similar to those used in areas like Manchester and Blackpool, but it's the first time such tram signals have been used on the Isle of Man.

The signal works in conjunction with the traffic lights.
