Late Lunch listen again: Singin' In The Rain

Christy and Sarah had their Late Lunch in the Gaiety Theatre today! They were there for the final rehearsals of Taylorian Productions' 'Singin' In The Rain', this year's big Summer show.

We caught up with cast members Danny Becker (Don), Laura Piggot (Kathy), Lisa Kreisky (Lina) and Josh Barnett (Cosmo) to find out about their roles, their training and their excitement for the show. We also heard how they've coped with the extremely complex choreography and musical elements, not to mention the many technical aspects, with the film sequences and - of course - a little thing like 4 tonnes of water falling as actual rain inside the theatre...

We also spoke with Director Chris Cuming and Assistant Director Emma Callin, what told us about the production process, casting, sharing the rehearsal process and much more.

You can buy tickets for the show, which is In Association with Manx Radio at the Villa Box Office by calling 01624 600555 or online here - and you also have a chance to win tickets all this week on Chris Kinley's show, tune in from 930am.

Also on the show today, we had a Soul Starter from The Temptations, their 1966 hit 'Ain't Too Proud to Beg', celebrated the birthdays of the wonderfully dramatic Kate Bush and also Paul Anka, who wrote the lyrics for our final, very theatrical song "My Way".

If you missed any part of the programme you can listen again at this link for the next 7 days.

In today's post-show podcast, Chris chats more about the technical challenges and gives some teasers about upcoming Taylorian Productions and, with her Villa Complex Management hat on, Emma reveals that this is the first Gaiety production that is offering a 'Relaxed Performance' for those with learning difficulties. You can find and subscribe to the podcast here.

Tomorrow we are joined once again by Donna from Paracise IOM, see you at 2pm!
