AON maintain 100 per cent record

Seniors on course to retain title

Team AON continued their dominance in the Division A (2nd Half) Winter League this week.

They beat E-Cerebro at the NSC.

Robin Crease starred in a 4-1 win for The Seniors with an impressive straight sets victory over Mike Hayler.

There were also wins for Jason Crease, Mason McClarney and Chris Cave who saw off Ben Peach, Dave Freer and Stuart Highy respectively.

The only thing stopping the table toppers to a whitewash 5-0 triumph was an outstanding performance from Ashley Sandiford-Sykes.

He beat AON's Patrick Fitzpatrick in four to provide some joy for the E-Cerebro faithful - but the night belonged to Crease and co.

The victory maintains AON's 100 per cent record in the second half of the season.

Elsewhere, X Stoneart won a big match between two teams in the chasing pack as they cemented second spot with victory over easyGym.

It was a close fought battle with the scoreline 2-2 before the top seeded players went head-to-head on court.

Mark Henson and Steve Baker registered wins for Stoneart while Dave O'Neill and Steve Morley overcame their opponents to level the scores.

And in the all-important decider it was Hamish Thornton who edged a tight game with Paul Barnett to seal the points for the home side.

The result means X Stoneart trail leaders AON by 101 points with three matches left.
