Club gives financial update during supporters meeting

FC Isle of Man recorded a financial loss of around £50,000 during last season.

The club's treasurer Russ Kent provided the financial update during a club supporters meeting held in Douglas on Monday this week (30 September).

He revealed that the 23/24 campaign cost the Island team around £380,000 whilst generating £330,000 in income through the likes of sponsorship, gate receipts and the FC Isle of Man children's football camps.

Of those costs, Mr Kent revealed that travel for bringing visiting teams in for home fixtures and for FC Isle of Man to travel to away matches was the biggest outlay at 'almost £250,000'.

Furthermore it was revealed that FC Isle of Man home matches cost the organisation between £7,500 to £8,000 whilst the average cost of an away match for the team was in the region of £5,200.

However, a government underwrite provided for the club means that the £50,000 deficit from the previous campaign has been covered.

Meanwhile, the club's Vice-Chair and Director of Football Lee Dixon says they remain committed to bringing in further sponsorship and other forms of revenue going forward.

Meanwhile, the club has also issued a statement following reports on the organisation's financial status.

There, FC Isle of Man says it brought over 2,500 visitors to the Island 'mostly during the quieter/off-season winter/spring period.'

Furthermore, it adds this equates to 'approximately 5,300 visitor bed nights and with an estimated contribution around £1.4million to the local economy.'
