Manx runner competes in 1500m final
Rachael Franklin finished ninth in the final of the women's 1500m at the British Athletics Championships in Birmingham yesterday.
She came home in a time of 4m 20.8s, some five seconds outside her personal best time, which she set the previous weekend.
Until Rachael ran 4m 15.8s at that Grand Prix event (and Sarah Astin 4m 18.7s), no Manx woman had gone under 4m 20s for the 1500m before, though.
Laura Weightman won the gold in Birmingham, finishing in a time of 4m 08.8s
