Golf: 2026 Isle of Man Championships getting underway

Men's and women's knockout phase being held at Rowany Golf Club

One of the major events on the Isle of Man's golf calendar is getting underway today (4 July).

The knockout phases of the 2026 Isle of Man Championships are being held at Rowany Golf Club with the men's tournament starting this morning and the women's event commencing tomorrow.

It's also a landmark year for the men's competition which is celebrating its 100th anniversary.

General Secretary of Isle of Man Golf Union, Andy Nicholson, gives his thoughts on who may be in the mix for honours this time around:

Heading into the 2026 event, Tommy Fenlon will enter the championships as the defending men's champion from 12 months ago whilst Kayleigh Dawson will be aiming to defend her crown in the women's tournament.

After this weekend, 16 will progress in the men's championship to the next phases next week whilst eight will move forward into the latter stages of the female competition.
